Job Description:

The Role

We are seeking a Technical Delivery Manager to join our growing Financial Services consulting team. You will set the tone through strong leadership, technical expertise, business domain knowledge, and commercial awareness, collaborating closely with forward-thinking technologists in a continuous-learning and results-focused environment.

Working closely with the CTO and Delivery Teams, you will lead the delivery of complex, bespoke software projects, primarily within the financial services sector. The role is highly people-centric, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and effective stakeholder management across all organisational levels.

You should have substantial experience delivering bespoke software and legacy modernisation initiatives, having progressed from developer to team lead to delivery manager, while maintaining the technical expertise to review developer output and assess team effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead and deliver complex software transformation projects, managing agile teams across UK, nearshore, and offshore locations.
  • Organise and motivate teams to achieve high performance and ensure technical solutions meet client requirements with a high degree of quality.
  • Review developer pull requests and apply sound technical judgement to assess code quality, team effectiveness, and overall delivery velocity.
  • Participate in commercial activities, including workshops, proof-of-concept exercises, business case development, and pre-sales meetings.
  • Act as escalation point for resolving project delivery issues collaboratively with clients and teams and ensure accurate billing aligned with resource plans.

Requirements:

  • Domain experience within Financial Services (especially in the front and middle office), ideally in consulting or professional services environments, on high-value engagements with tight deadlines for the transformation of big data or real-time platforms.
  • Proven track record delivering complex software transformation projects using agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, Nexus, SAFe, LESS, DSDM) in regulated environments.
  • Technical literacy enabling you to assess code quality, review pull requests, and gauge team productivity effectively and managing teams of 5-15 developers.
  • Experience with modern technologies and data engineering platforms (Java / .NET, AWS / Azure, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, Kafka, Databricks etc) as well as modern enterprise and integration architectural patterns.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, comfortably engaging with senior stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Client-focused, collaborative, and pragmatic approach to solving business problems through technology.
  • Genuine curiosity and continuous learning mindset, staying abreast of emerging software and data technologies.
  • Strong academic background, ideally a 2.1 or above in Computer Science or related fields. Professional technical certifications are advantageous.

Digiterre is a software and data engineering consultancy that enables technological and organisational transformation for many of the world’s leading organisations - be they commodity or energy traders, banks or investment managers, digital disruptors or public sector providers. We envisage, design and deliver software and data engineering solutions that users want, need and love to use. We achieve “Agility. At Greater Velocity” because we care about taking ownership for solving the toughest technical challenges and creating outstanding outcomes. As a consequence of this approach, we typically deliver high-risk, high-profile and time-constrained projects in less time than competitors, often significantly so.

Digiterre has won at least ten different industry awards including Best MiFID II Solution – Trade and Transaction Reporting awarded by HFM European Hedge Fund Services.

Our working culture is highly collaborative, consultative, and respectful. We fully understand our client’s needs as they evolve through the development lifecycle and use modern tools, methodologies, and technologies to enable us to work closely with in-house experts, and their end users, to maximise the benefits to all involved.

Our Values:

Our values are Care, Quality and Leadership.

Like all great professional services organisations, our aim is to delight our clients through the delivery of excellence and adherence to the highest levels of accountability in all that we do. In short, through keeping our promises and by over-delivering against our commitments wherever possible. Underpinning those aims is an all-encompassing passion for technology and data-led transformation. We are driven to demonstrate the point that brilliant software and data engineering, which meets the precise requirements of business users is, not only possible, but is the standard against which all initiatives should be measured; without compromise.

We aim to add business value far in excess of the cost of delivery, project after project. We are constantly seeking to hire additional team members who, like us, celebrate continuous learning and who want to work in a high-respect environment to contribute significantly to delivering the change that our clients have come to expect of Digiterre.
