We are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Delivery Lead to join a high-performing technology team within a leading global banking environment. This role is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex technology initiatives, ensuring alignment between business objectives, technical solutions, regulatory requirements, and strategic outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of delivery leadership, technical credibility, stakeholder management, and operational excellence. You will work across engineering, architecture, business analysis, product, and business teams to deliver high-impact programmes and technology solutions within a complex and highly regulated financial services environment.

Previous experience within banking, financial services, investment banking, retail banking, capital markets, or wealth management environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology projects and programmes from initiation through to implementation and transition into production support.
  • Develop and maintain delivery plans, roadmaps, governance artefacts, RAID logs, and resource forecasts to ensure successful programme execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, business analysis, testing, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and external suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensure transparent communication of programme status, risks, dependencies, milestones, and delivery outcomes to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Drive delivery using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies as required.
  • Manage budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests while maintaining focus on delivery objectives.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, operational resilience expectations, and regulatory obligations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across delivery practices, governance frameworks, tooling, and team effectiveness.
  • Skills and Experience
  • Significant experience as a Technical Delivery Lead, Technical Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or Programme Manager within large enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex technology solutions involving multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, cloud technologies, infrastructure delivery, enterprise architecture, and modern engineering practices.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar delivery management tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, governance, compliance, and operational controls.
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Drive outcomes by bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex and challenging delivery situations.
  • Successfully navigate organisational complexity, competing priorities, and evolving business requirements.
  • Be technically credible across engineering, architecture, business analysis, and delivery disciplines.
  • Make sound and timely decisions with incomplete information whilst maintaining delivery integrity and programme confidence.
  • Communicate openly and transparently, providing clear visibility of progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, resilience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, delivery discipline, collaboration, and positive team behaviours.
  • Foster a low-hierarchy, high-accountability culture that promotes teamwork, continuous improvement, and successful client outcomes.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience delivering transformation, cloud migration, cybersecurity, data, infrastructure, regulatory, or digital change programmes.
  • Financial services industry experience.
  • PRINCE2, PMP, SAFe, Scrum Master, Agile Practitioner, or equivalent certification.
