Babcock is seeking a Technical Competence Manager at HMNB Clyde Faslane to lead strategic technical competence across Fleet Engineering and support future submarine programmes. Hybrid working is available with regular on-site presence required, especially in the first year.
You will design and lead competency-based training, manage a multi-disciplinary team, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality engineering training aligned with regulatory standards.

As aTechnical Competence Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll hold strategic accountability for technical competence across Fleet Engineering. This is a pivotal leadership role where your work directly supports safe, high‑quality delivery today while preparing the workforce for future submarine programmes and emerging technologies.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week, based at HMNB Clyde Faslane site. Hybrid working patterns are available, though regular on‑site presence is expected, particularly during your first year.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
