Job Title: Technical Cards Operations Manager

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: London, Hybrid (3 days in the office a week)

The ideal candidate is a cards subject matter expert with hands-on experience in card programmes, including setting up new programmes, modifying existing ones, and resolving live issues. They will ensure products and operating models are optimized.

Responsibilities include raising considerations during new product development, documenting requirements, and implementing these into new or updated products.

The candidate should be familiar with all aspects of card programme decisions, scheme setups, authorization flows (at point of sale, e-commerce, wallets), and customer journeys. Familiarity with acronyms like CPV/VPA and chip set ups is desirable. Experience with new card manufacturing relationships and related certifications is also important.

The role may involve driving delivery of new systems, such as IVR, telephony, or chatbots, to support customer service, although direct project management experience is not mandatory. The candidate should be comfortable owning end-to-end delivery of changes and new features, ensuring operational readiness, and translating complex technical information into simple flows and documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Cards Transformation Alignment: Collaborate with the Cards Transformation Lead and Product team to ensure new products, features, and operating models meet business needs.
  2. Supplier Management: Conduct RFPs, analyze potential partners, and manage relationships supporting new or updated products.
  3. Card Servicing and Support: Capture requirements and deliver solutions, supporting the wider team with guidance and operational support.
  4. Card Scheme Activities: Work with Risk and Compliance on regulatory changes and incorporate them into products and services.
  5. Reporting and Stakeholder Management: Produce status reports, insights, and collaborate on reviews and steering committees.

Required experience and skills:

  • End-to-end card experience, preferably in Prepaid/Fintech.
  • Ability to challenge suppliers and manage escalations.
  • Proficiency with ticketing and request management systems, including creating dashboards and reports.
  • Understanding of card customer journeys and pain points.

Personal qualities:

  • Effective communication across multiple markets and management levels.
  • Attention to detail and ownership of tasks.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for customer service and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to produce high-quality presentations and summaries for executive audiences.
