Job Description

The Technical Cards Operations Manager is a key role within the Cards Transformation team, responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the card strategy. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with hands-on experience in card programmes, including setting up new programmes, modifying existing ones, and resolving live issues.

This role involves raising considerations during new product development, documenting requirements, and ensuring their implementation. The candidate should be familiar with card scheme setups, authorization flows across various channels, account structures, and configuration options. Knowledge of card manufacturing relationships, certifications, and authorizations is also essential.

While direct project management experience is not required, the candidate must be comfortable owning end-to-end delivery of changes, ensuring operational readiness, and translating complex technical information into clear documentation and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cards Transformation Alignment: Collaborate with the Cards Transformation Lead and Product team to define new products, features, and operating models.
  • Supplier Management: Manage RFPs, analyze potential partners, and oversee relationships supporting new or updated products.
  • Card Servicing and Support: Capture requirements and deliver solutions to support new products, including setting up new systems and services.
  • Card Scheme Activities: Work with Risk and Compliance on regulatory changes and incorporate them into products and services.
  • Reporting and Stakeholder Management: Produce status reports, provide insights, and support business reviews and steering committees.
Required Skills and Experience
  • End-to-end experience with card programmes, preferably in Prepaid/Fintech sectors.
  • Experience in challenging suppliers and managing escalations.
  • Proficiency with request and issue management systems, reporting, and automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of customer journeys and pain points related to cards.
