Qualifications

• Experience procuring low-volume, high-complexity mechanical, electrical, and composite Powerunit components.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement for Power Unit components, ensuring sourcing of materials and services.
• Identify suppliers from RBPT-approved base and negotiate quality, delivery and price.
• Expedite component progress and address delays using manufacturing know-how.
• Identify capacity shortfalls and source new solutions for future demand.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships and keep manufacturing system data up-to-date.
• Assist budget planning and cost monitoring within the department.
• Serve as a procurement advisor to the team and stakeholders.
• Work independently to meet tight deadlines and drive improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvements and innovation in procurement processes.

Red Bull Powertrains are seeking an experienced Technical Buyer to join our team, driving the future of motorsport innovation. You will be based at our state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes which is designed to deliver high-performance Power Units for the 2026 engine regulations.

As the Technical Buyer, you will be responsible for driving the procurement process for Power Unit components, managing key supplier relationships plus ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of parts and services required for our high-performance Power Units. Your role will be critical in supporting our projects and ensuring that deadlines are met while maintaining the highest levels of quality, delivery, and cost control.

The role:

• Manage the procurement process for designated Power Unit components, ensuring the sourcing of materials, services, and manufacturing processes required to meet the needs of the team.
• Identify suitable suppliers from the RBPT-approved supplier base, placing purchase orders and negotiating the best combination of quality, delivery, and price.
• Expedite component progress, proactively addressing potential delays and using your manufacturing experience to overcome supply issues.
• Identify capacity shortfalls within the current supplier portfolio and source new solutions to meet future demands.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in the manufacturing system.
• Support the budget planning and cost monitoring processes as required, helping to manage expenditure across the department.
• Be a focal point of support and advice for the team on procurement matters.
• Work efficiently and independently, ensuring tight deadlines are consistently met.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvements and innovation within the procurement process

What we need from you:

• Proven experience in the successful procurement of low-volume, high-complexity, mechanical, electrical, composite components for niche volume Powerunits.
• A strong technical understanding and ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing processes
• Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
• Strong sense of responsibility, team spirit, and a high level of reliability
