Job summary

The Collective Network Limited is seeking a Technical Buyer in Gloucester to convert MRP demand into purchase orders and own supplier performance end-to-end. You will build secondary sources for critical items and manage subcontract suppliers across machining and NDT to ensure on-time delivery.

Strong negotiation and ERP/MRP skills are essential. Applicants should have manufacturing buying experience, a UK driving licence, and ideally SYSPRO exposure or CIPS.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing buying experience with ownership of suppliers.
• Strong negotiation capabilities including recovery when a supplier misses deadlines.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP skills; SYSPRO is a plus.
• Full UK driving licence for regular Gloucester–Swindon travel.
• Aerospace/automotive/defence exposure is helpful; CIPS is a bonus.

Responsibilities

Our client is a fast-growing advanced composites manufacturer supplying aerospace, automotive, defence and space. Lead times are the biggest threat to delivery dates, and you'll be the person who knows the real numbers.

You'll:

• Turn MRP demand into purchase orders in SYSPRO
• Own suppliers end to end: sourcing, price, terms and performance
• Build a second source for anything critical
• Manage subcontract suppliers, from machining to NDT
• Give a straight answer on material availability before delivery dates are promised to clients
• Track supplier delivery and price variance with data, not opinion

You buy, a dedicated Planner schedules. Two sites, one set of numbers.

You'll need:

• Manufacturing buying experience where you owned suppliers, not just raised orders
• Genuine negotiation skills, including recovering when a supplier misses
• Hands-on ERP/MRP skills (SYSPRO is a bonus)
• A full UK driving licence for regular Gloucester to Swindon travel
• Aerospace, automotive or defence experience helps, as does CIPS.
