Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is actively seeking an Engineering, Technical Buyer for our client in the St. Neots area. You will source, negotiate and purchase engineered components, tooling and services for production and engineering projects.

You will manage suppliers, control lead times and costs, and support continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with H&S and internal procedures.

Qualifications

• Technical/engineering procurement experience (manufacturing/industrial preferred).
• Confident interpreting engineering drawings/BOMs.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• ERP/MRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders from drawings, specs and BOMs.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate pricing, terms and delivery.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance; resolve delays/quality issues.
• Maintain procurement data (lead times, pricing, supplier records, stock info).
• Identify cost-saving and alternative sourcing opportunities.
• Support NPI/prototypes and supplier involvement.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and H&S.

Technical Buyer (Manufacturing & Engineering)

• Location: St. Neots - Cambourne area (Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire border)
• Salary: Up to 42,000 per annum (DOE )
• Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
• Recommend having own transport due to location
• 39 hours per week: Monday-Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm, Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm
• Industry: Processing Equipment Manufacturing

Technical Buyer Summary:
