Job summary

RED Global in London is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to bridge underwriting and data science teams within the Insurance sector. You will define business requirements and analyse insurance data using SQL and Python to support analytics, ML and AI solutions.

The role prefers experience in underwriting or portfolio analytics, strong SQL/Python, BI tools (Power BI/Tableau), and familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks or Azure; London Market exposure is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience in insurance underwriting, pricing or portfolio analytics.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, alongside BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Business analysis experience, including requirements gathering, user stories and UAT.
• Exposure to data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or Azure.
• London Market, Lloyd’s or MGA experience would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Define business requirements for insurance data projects and act as the bridge between underwriting and analytics teams.
• Analyse insurance data using SQL and Python to support data analytics, ML and AI solutions.
• Assist in delivering data products with stakeholders across business and tech teams.
• Support UAT and documentation for data-driven initiatives.

Technical Business Analyst - Insurance Data, Analystics & AI

This role will work with UK insurance clients, bridging the gap between underwriting teams and data science/engineering teams.

The role involves working with underwriters and portfolio teams to define business requirements, analyse insurance data using SQL and Python, and support the delivery of data analytics, machine learning and AI solutions.

They’re ideally looking for someone with:

• Experience in insurance underwriting, pricing or portfolio analytics.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, alongside BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Business analysis experience, including requirements gathering, user stories and UAT.
• Exposure to data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or Azure.
