Job description

Position Description

We are seeking a Principal–level Technical Business Analyst to join Transformation Office and play a key role in the delivery of complex portfolio of investment management projects. This role sits at the intersection of business, product, and technology, requiring strong technical curiosity coupled with structured analysis, delivery ownership and confident stakeholder engagement.

You will operate semi-independently in a high-impact, internal-customer-facing role, working closely with business and technology teams to define, design, and deliver change. Your primary stakeholders will be a range of internal subject matter experts spanning front and middle/back-office teams plus Data and Technology delivery leads.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead delivery of one or more workstreams in a complex, multi-functional global transformation programme through the complete SDLC, including vendor management.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations around progress, requirements gathering, solution definition, constraints, risks, and dependencies clearly and proactively.
  • Work with business owners to extract and formally document process flows, business rules, and detailed requirements.
  • Research, analyse, and produce impact assessments across teams, systems, and processes.
  • Apply a broad range of Business Analysis tools and techniques to ensure clarity, completeness, and shared understanding.
  • Shape business case for major technology spend coordinating with business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with vendor and technology teams to:
  • Document functional designs and sequence diagrams.
  • Define work breakdown structures.
  • Clearly articulate what needs to be built and tested.
  • Shape and contribute to innovative, practical solution designs.
  • Integrate business and technical perspectives into a coherent end-to-end solution vision.
  • Participate in and drive testing activities including test planning and scripting; test execution and defect triage.
  • Identify and communicate technical constraints, risks, and dependencies impacting delivery.
  • Lead change management efforts to drive adoption, including defining and implementing KPI / OKRs post implementation.
  • Responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team.
  • Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels.
Key Requirements
  • Approximately 7-10 years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Project Manager, or hybrid PM/BA or product owner in a technology or software delivery environment.
  • Experience in Alternatives is a must – understanding of hedge funds, private equity, private debt, secondaries, co-investments, etc. workflows and operations is critical. Exposure to public markets (equities, fixed income, derivatives) is limited.
  • Hands-on delivery experience on projects involving eFront, Charles River, Burgiss Caissa (now MSCI private markets), Thinkfolio, Simcorp, Addepar, etc.
  • Large project experience through full SDLC, adept at Agile software delivery.
  • Implementation experience from a technology consultancy or in a product owner capacity is valuable.
  • The ability to engage and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders of all levels, and coordinate teams of business users and technical staff across multiple locations.
  • A curious and analytical approach with the ability to identify areas for process improvements or improving business functionality.
  • Preferred but not mandatory: Prior experience within the Financial Services industry at an Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO), Wealth Management, or Asset Management firm or experience working with Private Equity, Private Debt or Hedge Funds.
  • The ability to understand and query relational databases and programming languages (for example, but not limited to, SQL, Python, Java).
  • Demonstrable fluency in Applied AI
  • Prior experience in building visual mock-ups (for example, but not limited to, using Balsamiq, Lucid, Visio).
  • Proficiency in building process diagrams, creating user stories, building Gantt charts and entity relationship diagrams.
