We are seeking a passionate and driven Technical Business Analyst to join our team, playing a key role in delivering innovative solutions for our public sector clients. Within this sector, you’ll help to shape and implement business and digital transformation initiatives that drive meaningful impact.
What you’ll do:
In this role, you will:
Support the creation of cross-organisational data labelling standards, data lineage and provenance standards, data discovery standards.
Engage with Data Platform Product, Information Managers, Solutions Architects and others to ensure that policy recommendations are being considered across data architecture teams. Working within your data office team to shape practical data policies, and aligning that information cross-organisation to enable a cohesive data strategy.
What we’re looking for:
- Good at understanding complexity and abstracting that into a form that is consumable for a non-technical audience.
- Experience of achieving data interoperability between 2 or more systems or organisations. Experience of working with and developing data standards and the negotiation and collaboration that this requires.
- Experience working with or developing data models, ontologies, data catalogues, data lakes and data warehouses.
- Self-starter, who can work autonomously within parameters set.
- Ideally some AWS experience and moving data to the cloud.
- Ideally experience of working for the authority and some understanding of the existing technology, data, security and compliance requirement
- Have developed Physical Data Models, Logical Data Models or Conceptual Data Models.
- Have experience in producing dictionaries, database designs or data flow diagrams.
- Have experience working with Ontologies or Knowledge Graphs.
- Have experience of using tools like Visio, Sparx or Draw.IO.
- Have experience of using languages like UML or Express-G.
- Have developed data architecture artefacts within Enterprise Architecture Frameworks like TOGAF.
Data Standards:
- Have developed data standards in support of data interoperability – either within an organisation or between organisations.
- Have experience in writing technical specifications.
- Have experience in assuring code/systems against standards.
- Have led others to develop data standards.
- Have championed and governed data standards within an organisation.
Metadata Management:
- Have experience in designing or developing Data Catalogues or Metadata repositories.
- Have used tools like Apache Atlas, Hive Metastore, AWS Glue, or AWS Datazone.
- Have been involved in the design of any of the following: data lakes, data warehouses, data lakehouses, data pipelines, data meshes or data marketplaces.

- Will be required to hold a higher level of clearance.
