We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and versatile Technical Business Analyst to join our team and to assist with an ambitious transformation portfolio that will, over the next five years, change every element of our systems landscape. This role is ideal for an experienced Technical BA who is looking for more than a standard BA role, will work within our Technical Business Analyst team and will report into the Lead Technical Business Analyst within the Software Engineering function.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

1. Performing structured analysis to ensure the full impact of change is understood (for example documenting current and future technical processes, data flow diagrams and data models).
2. Understanding and reviewing requirements (business and non-functional) and providing healthy challenge.
3. Contributing to solution proposals and architecture, identifying areas of concern and working to resolve these with the wider team, challenging solutions and suggesting alternatives where a simpler option could be utilised.
4. Working within a collaborative team, in conjunction with Enterprise and Solution Architecture, ensuring that we have technical solutions and Architectural artefacts that deliver the requirements.
5. Delivering gap analysis between current and proposed implementations.
6. Ensuring there is a detailed understanding of the scope boundaries (in and out of scope).
7. Assessing the technical impacts, plus business or change impacts, that are as a result of the proposed solutions and integrations.
8. Contributing to epics and stories for key programmes ensuring that the engineering teams are working to actionable requirements.

To ensure success, you will demonstrate experience and creativity with a focus on working with system development teams, system integration and solution architecture. We are looking for outstanding candidates who can bridge the gap between business-led ideation, requirement capture and technical delivery, setting programmes up for success by ensuring an early understanding of What, Why and How.

You will need:

1. Ideally 4+ years of Technical Business Analysis experience.
2. Consistently exhibits core competencies of strategic thinker, trusted adviser, clear communicator, analytical thinker, problem solver and knowledge sharer.
3. Able to communicate well on both a business and technical level, to all levels of the organisation.
4. Confident reviewing and commenting on technical designs, solution architecture and integrations.
5. Strength to challenge ideas, requirements and technical delivery.
6. Able to see the big picture and join the dots between activities whilst also having excellent attention to detail.
7. Be at ease with unknowns and able to ‘park’ the unknown or make an assumption.
8. Able to think laterally about the impact of an idea or change.
9. Proficient knowledge of Agile processes, writing User Story and Acceptance criteria.
10. Experience with the full SDLC.
