Job Description:

Technical Author (Marine vessels)

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Technical Author to work on technical documentation for marine vessels. You will create and amend technical content, ensuring quality and continuous improvement. This is a 1-year contract ending in May 2026.

What You Will Do

  • Author accurate technical documentation following guidelines
  • Assess tasks and resolve queries to prepare source data
  • Coordinate with the Tech Lead and Project Manager to meet milestones
  • Identify and address project risks
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and processes
  • Promote a culture of 'right-first-time'
  • Drive process improvements
  • Collaborate with the Production Team and Training Manager

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • UK nationality and DBS clearance or eligibility
  • Extensive technical authoring experience in engineering
  • Experience with S1000D XML data modules and CSDB environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Familiarity with marine engineering systems and naval vessels
