Overview

Technical Author Assistant (Document Controller) - Submarines – Full Time – Derby. The role is within the RRSL Availability Centre, Derby, focused on the creation and amendment of technical documentation, offering responsive issue support and optimised maintenance management to deliver support to the submarine enterprise and maximise availability of RN submarines.

What you will be doing

As the Technical Documentation TAA you will be a point of contact for dealing with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Enterprise partners and other Rolls-Royce departments. You will assist in enabling the development and delivery of maintenance and operational Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) technical documentation used by engineering teams across the enterprise. To do this you will:

  • Assisting with the production of new procedures, ensuring work files are created and maintained
  • Chasing and progressing feedback/updates to procedures and initiate approvals process
  • Liaising with different stakeholders to ensure all procedures remain in date and are reviewed routinely
  • Conducting simple changes to Books of Reference (BR) or Data Module (DM) documentation prior to release to the main stakeholder
  • Representing the team where required at review meetings
  • Supporting the co-ordination and attending Derby Procedure Authorisation Committee (DERPAC) meetings

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to improve their depth and/or breadth of knowledge of NSRP systems, components and maintenance.

Knowledge of Naval Nuclear Power Plant (or civil PWR plant) – not essential but desirable
