My client is seeking a Technical Author with the following responsibilities and qualifications:

Responsibilities:

• Ensure customers receive 'best in class' technical documentation for our products and solutions.
• Provide multi-media solutions to enable customers to access support information through various means.
• Manage the release of engineering documentation.
• Decompose product and software functions into user-centric manuals and guides.
• Collaborate with R&D, Technical Support, and other departments to clarify technical issues.
• Coordinate with Service Engineers and customers to align documentation with standard practices.
• Prepare and commission illustrations and photographs for documentation.
• Maintain user manuals, guides, and product datasheets, including layout and content.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards through appropriate content definition.
• Generate articles and materials for the Customer Support Portal.
• Manage product labelling, marking, and part number distribution.
• Collaborate with marketing teams and external consultants on artwork and print files.
• Maintain the Product Document register and generate BoMs, liaising with supply chain and production.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• HND in engineering or equivalent industrial experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience creating technical documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with B2B products requiring in-field installation.
• Experience with products featuring user interfaces.
• Proficiency in creating documentation for software programs.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Acrobat.
• Experience with laying out manuals in InDesign or similar software.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience managing BoM data.
• Experience creating or editing videos or multimedia files.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
