Job summary

NoMuda, a long-standing VisualFactory MES provider, seeks an experienced technical writer for an office-based fixed-term maternity cover role in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. You will build prompts and templates to turn changelogs, Jira tickets, specs, and recordings into structured drafts, and own the information architecture and style guide for the full documentation set.

Collaborate with development, implementation, and customer success teams to ensure technical accuracy and high-quality

Qualifications

• Solid technical writing experience on enterprise, industrial, or complex software.
• Hands-on experience using generative AI tools in production documentation workflows.
• Strong prompting skills for creating well-structured drafts from LLMs.
• Editorial judgement to correct AI-generated content.
• Ability to write clearly for audiences from shop-floor to engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own information architecture and documentation style guide.
• Produce and maintain functional documentation, guides, and release notes.

Job description

Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Solid technical writing experience on enterprise, industrial, or otherwise complex software
• Hands-on experience using generative AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar inside a real, production documentation workflow
• Strong prompting skills for producing well-structured, accurate first drafts from large language models
• Sharp editorial judgement to identify and correct inaccurate, ambiguous, or subtly incorrect AI-generated content
• Ability to understand a deep technical product and write clearly for audiences ranging from shop-floor operators to integration engineers
• Useful, but not essential: background in MES, ERP, or manufacturing software
• Useful, but not essential: docs-as-code experience including Markdown, Git, and platforms such as Docusaurus, GitBook, Confluence, or MadCap Flare
• Useful, but not essential: experience building AI-assisted documentation pipelines or automations
• Useful, but not essential: API and integration documentation experience

We are NoMuda, and we have been building VisualFactory, a manufacturing execution system, for over 25 years. Our software runs on the shop floors of manufacturers including Volvo, Bombardier, and ThyssenKrupp, controlling and recording complex assembly and production processes. We are a team of around 50 people across the UK and US, with most of our UK team based near Stratford-upon-Avon. Lean principles guide how we build and work. This is an office-based fixed-term maternity cover role in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, with a genuine route to a permanent position if we build the function well. We offer a salary of £45,000–£52,000 dependent on experience,
