Job description

Role: Technical Assistant

Contract:Permanent

Pay Rate: £12.50 per hour

Location:Pontefract, WF8 3DD

Shift Available:Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm (1 hour break)

Our facilities combine traditional British butchery technique with some of the best technological prowess in the food sector.

A committed team of over 700 staff oversee the whole process from procuring the best possible livestock from our carefully picked group of farms, through butchery, retail packaging and despatch before it finally arrives on the supermarket shelf or as part of the restaurant dining experience.

About you:

• Attention to detail with a diligent approach to work activities
• Good communication with staff across site and external visitors.
• Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining quality and speed.

Role:

• Work as part of the technical team to improve product quality and implement control measures to maintain current high standards while ensuring the Dovecote Park meets food safety, quality and legal requirements of the business
• Ensure that traceability of the product is not compromised and that all necessary documented inspections are carried out to the correct testing frequency and are within agreed specifications
• Maintain all quality records, ensuring that they are legible and in good condition and are document controlled within the Dovecote quality system and are ready to present to any auditing body at any time.
• To assist any technical team member with updating documentation that is required in a timely manner
• To assist / support any member of the technical team on projects / tasks or sample collection
• Complete traceability and mass balances in a timely manner ready to present to any auditing body
• Confident with clear communication skills - verbal and written
• Assist/support if required with process audits in the relevant areas to find the root cause
• Complete internal audits as part of the internal auditing team
• Ensure HACCP procedures are maintained and adhered to.
