The Role

In this varied role, you will be part of the technical team and will assist in ensuring the safety, legality, and compliance of products for retailer and food service customers. You will work with suppliers and collaborate closely with major UK retailers to understand their product and packaging requirements, as well as their quality standards.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining the Product Safety and Quality Management System
• Managing customer complaints, non-conformances, and supplier approvals
• Maintaining close contact with suppliers to provide customers with up-to-date product information
• Helping to ensure product and packaging specifications are legally compliant with food safety and quality standards
• Translating product specification information onto retailer online systems
• Compiling, checking, and approving product labelling to ensure artwork is signed off in line with customer requirements
• Working with customers and suppliers to manage NPD projects at each stage of the process

The Person

This role is ideal for a graduate with a food-related degree, preferably with some technical or quality assurance experience within the food industry. Alternatively, a graduate with a few years of industry experience looking to expand their exposure to international suppliers and retail customers is also suitable. Relevant backgrounds could include manufacturing, retail, food service, or import/export businesses.

You should have a passion for the food industry, a strong work ethic, and a desire to succeed. Your previous work experience should have equipped you with excellent organizational and communication skills, enabling you to handle projects efficiently, build solid working relationships, and excel in your role.
