Job summary

Carnival UK is seeking a Technical Architect to own standards and reference architectures with suppliers and champion them across delivery teams. You will bridge architecture and engineering, translating designs into robust technical detail across CI/CD, IaC and automation.

The role is hybrid, with up to two days from home, at CUK07 level, overseeing low-level design governance and ensuring supplier output aligns with the agreed design and standards, helping shape engineering norms across the

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on technical experience translating architectural designs into real technical detail across CI/CD, IaC, automation and integration.
• Strong grasp of modern architecture patterns: event-driven, microservices, scaling, security and observability.
• Experience building engineering standards and reference architectures for delivery teams and suppliers.
• Proven experience working with outsourcers, suppliers and partners within third-party delivery constructs.

Responsibilities

• Bridge the gap between solution architecture and engineering by owning and governing the low-level design phase.
• Collaborate with projects and outsourced/third-party teams to set the standard for low-level design.
• Govern supplier output to ensure alignment with the agreed solution design and technical standards.
• Help develop engineering standards and reference architectures the business expects suppliers to follow.
• Engage with external suppliers to set, enforce and govern standards across delivery ecosystems.
