Technical Architect (DV Security Clearance)

About the role

CGI’s Space, Defence, and Intelligence business unit is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge technical solutions for government agencies. We seek a Technical Architect to join our Secure Innovation & Advisory team, working collaboratively with clients to deliver impactful solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to work with groundbreaking technologies in a dynamic environment. CGI values innovation, collaboration, and ownership, fostering a culture of growth and development. Due to the secure nature of the project, this position is open only to UK Nationals with or eligible for HMG High-Level Clearance (HLC). Some remote or hybrid work is possible, but onsite presence is required for secure system access.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
  • Lead systems engineering and integration efforts.
  • Provide technical assurance for bids and proposals.
  • Work with public cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure), especially Infrastructure as Code.
  • Build, lead, and mentor development teams.
  • Communicate effectively with management and engineering teams.
  • Develop software using modern languages such as Java, Go, Python with standardized, well-documented code.
  • Manage system testing and automate testing processes (unit, integration, mocking/stubbing).
  • Deploy and develop on Linux platforms, including package management and networking.
  • Apply modern DevOps methodologies and tools like Ansible.
  • Adapt quickly to new technologies and environments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical solutions and designs.
  • Experience in systems engineering and integration.
  • Experience providing technical assurance for bids/proposals.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), especially Infrastructure as Code.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills for development teams.
  • Strong communication skills with management and engineers.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Go, Python).
  • Experience with system testing and automated testing techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux deployment and development environments.
  • Knowledge of modern DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management (e.g., Ansible).
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with SQL (MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL stores like Elasticsearch.
  • Experience developing RESTful web services.
