Job summary

Carrington Recruitment Solutions Limited is seeking a Technical AI Consultant for our London-based AI, Digital, Data and Technology Innovation Consulting arm. You will translate AI ideas into working solutions, work closely with clients, and spend significant time hands-on building proofs of concept and guiding live services.

You will coordinate delivery teams and use Claude and Claude Code daily to raise quality and speed, with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering AI solutions in a consulting or tech environment.
• Hands-on coding experience with rapid prototyping and PoCs.
• Regular use of AI coding tools (Claude Code) to write, test and review code.
• Strong understanding of large language models and practical application with client data.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Ability to coordinate technical delivery teams and work across organisations.

Technical AI Consultant, Claude, Cloud Technologies, Consulting Background, Big 4, London

Technical AI Consultant from a consulting background is required to work for a fast growing and exciting AI, Digital, Data and Technology Innovation Consulting arm of a fantastic organisation.

You will have proven consulting experience and will be from a technical background. Whilst the build-phase is in play, there will be a big expectancy to be in their Central London offices circa 3-4 days per week. The rest will be then dictated by wherever the business lands.

There is already a healthy pipeline of business and these Technical Consultants are required for the execution part, driven by technology, with proven consulting experience and running / attending workshops on various client sites. Travel to client sites outside of your London office attendance will all be reimbursed.

This is a chance to be part of something new and ground-breaking. You will turn AI ideas into working solutions. You will work closely with clients, listening to their problems and agreeing what to build, but you will spend much of your time hands-on: building proofs of concept (early trials of AI ideas), writing code and guiding the next steps towards a live service.

You will also coordinate technical delivery teams from partner companies and other firms, either embedded in teams or in some cases, leading them. They expect you to use Claude Code, Claude and other AI tools every day to build faster and to a higher standard, and to check carefully everything that is produced.

Experience required:

• Proven experience in building technology or AI solutions, in a consulting, technology or similar client-facing setting - Big 4 experience in PwC, KPMG, Deloitte or EY would be VERY attractive!
• Hands-on coding skills, for example in Python, and experience building working prototypes quickly
• Regular, practical use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code to write, test and review code
• A good understanding of how large language models (the technology behind tools such as Claude) work, what they can and cannot do, and how to build useful solutions with them, for example by connecting them to a client’s own information
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud)
• A practical view of what it takes to move from proof of concept to live: testing, security, monitoring, support and cost
• An understanding of DevSecOps and FinOps principles
• Experience working with, or coordinating, technical teams in other organisations or locations
• Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to explain technical ideas simply to non-technical people
• Good client skills, including listening, asking the right questions and building trust
• Experience with AI Agents
• Familiarity with data platforms and data governance
• Knowledge of AI regulation and responsible AI frameworks
