Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited in London is seeking a Trade Effluent Technical Advisor to join the Asset Operations & Capital Delivery division. Based at Crossness - Abbey Wood, you will handle trade effluent applications, raise charges and consent fees, and support customers through calls, letters and enquiries.

You will complete and manage temporary case assessments, prepare legal documentation and monthly internal reports, and work with retailers to ensure excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Ability to work within a team environment.

• IT literate and fully adept in using MS Office programs
• A high level of attention to detail, a logical and analytical mind.
• The ability to evaluate, interpret and effectively communicate written data and information from diverse sources.
• Experience in customer-facing roles and providing excellent customer service.
• Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiating skills.
• Water Industry Experience beneficial.
• Driver’s licence and access to a car for travel to work.

What you’ll be doing as a Trade Effluent Technical Advisor

Base location: Crossness Sewage Treatment Works, SE2 9AQ

Working hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

What you should bring to the role

• Ability to work within a team environment is essential.
• Ability to work to timescales and targets.
• IT literate and fully adept in using MS Office programs
• A high level of attention to detail, a logical and analytical mind.
• The ability to evaluate, interpret and effectively communicate written data and information from diverse sources.
• Experience in customer-facing roles and providing excellent customer service.
• Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiating skills for liaising with external parties and across different levels of stakeholders both within and outside of the business.

Additional skills and experiences would be beneficial:

• Water Industry Experience.
• Knowledge of Thames Water systems, e.g. TERMIS, Salesforce, SAP supply chain, is desirable.
• Financial experience in revenue generation.
• Regulatory Experience.
• Ideally, have a valid UK driver’s licence and access to a car for travel to work because the site is in a remote location.
