Principal Consultant - Qualified Finance & Accountancy | Senior Leadership | Middle Management | Commerce & Industry | UK | Executive Search

Sellick Partnership is recruiting for a Senior Technical Accountant for an insurance business experiencing significant growth through acquisition and organic means.

This Senior Financial Accountant will work closely with an outstanding leadership team to deliver and own a best-in-class technical accounting function in a continually evolving environment.

This role offers full ownership of technical accounting standards across the business, development of technical papers, and significant input into board papers, working closely with the SLT on future changes and their organizational impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the development of technical accounting standards.
  2. Own IFRS 17 projects.
  3. Develop technical papers for board and audit committees.
  4. Collaborate with the finance team during key periods, advising on Solvency II compliance.
  5. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert providing technical advice to SLT.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background, preferably from an Audit or Practice setting, with a strong understanding of technical accounting standards in an insurance context, experience in developing technical documentation, and the ability to partner with the wider business.

You should be qualified (ACCA, ACA, ICAEW, ICAS) with relevant industry experience in an insurance organization, seeking to take ownership of the technical accounting function, and capable of challenging, influencing, and leading senior stakeholders to establish a robust technical framework and adapt to future regulatory changes.
