Technical Accountant / Accounting Policy Specialist

Main Purpose and Accountability of the Role

Within EPO Finance, you will be responsible for the Accounting Policy Group (APG), ensuring compliance and providing technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide technical accounting advice for MUFG EMEA & International entities.
2. Partner with Front Office to advise on accounting implications of business activities and inform about upcoming accounting changes.
3. Advise on accounting policies for new products, deals, restructurings, and complex transactions.
4. Train front and back office teams on accounting developments.
5. Engage with external auditors on policy matters.
6. Issue new accounting policies under IFRS.
7. Advise on accounting and classification for consolidation reporting under IFRS, UK, US, and Japanese GAAP.
8. Review disclosures and support Financial Reporting teams in preparing financial statements.
9. Participate in industry groups to share best practices and insights.
10. Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed.
