Job summary

Baird is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join the Technology & Services team. You will support live M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory workstreams, taking ownership of execution from prep through completion.

A strong sell-side background, commercial judgement and leadership capabilities are essential. You will develop junior team members, deliver high-quality client materials and engage senior bankers to drive successful transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a numerate or business field.
• Typical 3–5 years in investment banking with sell-side M&A exposure.
• Ability to use AI as a productivity/analytical tool.
• Interest and knowledge in Technology & Services sector.
• Experience leading transaction workstreams and delivering analyses under tight timelines.
• Strong modelling, valuation and accounting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of senior stakeholder interactions.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork; ability to mentor juniors.
• Exceptional organisation and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Advanced Excel/PowerPoint/Word; familiarity with Capital IQ, PitchBook, Mergermarket.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of live M&A, capital raising and advisory workstreams.
• Develop and present client-ready analyses and recommendations.
• Lead financial modelling, valuation and scenario analyses.
• Prepare client presentations and transaction documentation.
• Coordinate with senior bankers and external advisers to maintain momentum.
• Review and coach Analysts, ensuring high standards.
• Support business development through sector research and pitches.
