Job summary

1st Executive in Hull invites an experienced Technology Procurement Category Specialist to join our team. You will support commercial activity across the technology supplier landscape, influence stakeholders and build trusted relationships across the business.

You’ll drive sourcing strategies, lead negotiations on high-value IT contracts, and use data-driven insights to deliver sustainable cost benefits while managing supplier performance and risk.

Qualifications

• Commercial acumen and experience across Technology/IT Procurement and category management.
• Experience operating within a regulated environment or another complex, highly governed organisation.
• Strong track record of sourcing complex IT and technology solutions and negotiating high-value contracts.
• Understanding of commercial drivers, supplier landscape and market dynamics relevant to technology procurement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage at senior levels.
• Pragmatic, analytical approach to problem solving, with the ability to simplify complexity and make data-led commercial decisions.
• Ability to build effective relationships across Procurement, Technology, Risk and the wider business.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies across complex technology spend.
• Lead sourcing exercises and negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements with technology suppliers.
• Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders and provide commercial advice and challenge.
• Support supplier performance and delivery of sustainable cost benefits.
• Use market insight, data and commercial analysis to inform sourcing and supplier decisions.
• Identify and manage commercial and supplier risks across the category.
