Job summary

Nuffield Health is transforming its Fitness & Wellbeing technology ecosystem from Barbican to Epsom, with hybrid working (1 office day per week). We seek a Lead Software Engineer/Tech Lead to drive architectural direction and scalable solutions across Digital, Integrations, Salesforce and Data Engineering.

You will own low-level designs, mentor teams, and ensure engineering quality while collaborating with product owners, partners and Delivery Managers to deliver impactful member experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical design and delivery, owning engineering quality.
• Ability to define technical direction and produce high-quality low-level designs.
• Broad experience across mobile & web development, API integrations, data engineering, and Salesforce.
• Hands-on cloud deployments (Azure) and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across Digital, Integrations, Salesforce and Data Engineering.
• Own and define low-level designs, including integration with third-party systems.
• Act as the accountable lead for engineering quality, consistency and delivery pace across multiple workstreams.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Delivery Managers and third-party partners to align technical approaches and manage dependencies.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise architecture and engineering standards, with end-to-end design across platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and feedback to engineering teams, promoting best practices without line management responsibilities.
• Identify and mitigate cross-workstream technical risks.
• Support service management transition, ensuring solutions are stable and operationally ready.
