Job summary

Marex is seeking an experienced technical lead and full-stack software engineer to drive the Equity Market Making and Trading platform. You will lead front-to-back development, contribute to on-premise and cloud-hosted applications, and mentor the team in modernisation and cloud migration practices.

You will collaborate with architecture and platform engineering to align with Marex standards and support the Agentic AI strategy while ensuring delivery quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Engineering : C#, .Net, ASP.Net, React, JS/TS, HTML, CSS, SQL, WPF, Linux
• Tools / Technologies / Infra : NodeJS, cloud/AWS, RabbitMQ, AMQ, Mongo, Bitbucket (Git), SQL/Server, Jira
• Design : API, HTTP/REST, JSON, micro-services and distributed systems
• SDLC : Agile, Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, CI/CD, Automation First, BDD/TDD, DORA. Understanding of, and advocacy for, Agentic AI / Context Engineering

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to the London and Cheshire based Capital Markets - Equities development teams
• Design and code across proprietary applications and services that constitute the Capital Markets – Equities Market Making and Trading technology platform
• Take accountability for the quality of deliverables, and assist the wider scrum team in taking accountability for theirs
• Work with platform engineering to automate build and deploy of existing and new systems
• Support the strategic goals of Capital Markets development; greenfield initiatives, replatforming and consolidating legacy systems, and adopting an automation‑first approach to delivery and quality control
• Act as Scrum Master, managing the backlog, scrum ceremonies and handling impediments
• Act as an automated testing champion within the scrum team, working with SDETs to upskill developers and exploiting opportunities to automate quality control
• Ensure compliance with the FCA and internal risk/governance standards
