Job summary

Thirdfort is seeking a Tech Lead (IC4) to join one of our product teams in London, with a preference for in-office collaboration two days per week. You’ll shape technical direction, own complex features, and mentor engineers while partnering with Product, Design and other engineering leaders.

You’ll work across backend and frontend stacks (Go, TypeScript, React, Python) to design secure, scalable systems and advance AI-assisted development practices in a regulated, fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating production software in a modern engineering environment.
• Led technical design and delivery for complex systems or domains.
• Comfortable working across backend and frontend systems (Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python).
• Strong knowledge of APIs, data modelling, testing strategies and system design.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership within your team and domain, guiding design decisions and architectural direction.
• Design, build and deliver complex features and systems that are secure, scalable and maintainable.
• Own technical outcomes end-to-end, from discovery and design through to delivery and long-term operation.
• Lead by example in AI-assisted software engineering, using AI to accelerate delivery while maintaining engineering judgement.
• Mentor and coach engineers across the team, supporting their technical growth and confidence.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to shape solutions and manage trade-offs.
