Team Teach Teaching Assistants needed in St Helens

North West / Temporary / £90 - 110 per day

A fantastic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in St Helens (WA9) requires a talented teaching assistant with a minimum of 6 months experience working in an educational establishment. Team-Teach training would be beneficial but not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support students on a one-to-one basis with curriculum support, as well as in small groups with class-based activities.

The school supports pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 who display challenging behaviour and have a variety of SEND, including SEMH. The role involves working under the direction of a class teacher. The position is for 5 days per week, with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

The school offers ongoing support and guidance from a welcoming team dedicated to meeting the needs of their students.

As a Teaching Assistant / TA, it is essential that you have:

• A minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational setting
• Knowledge of working with pupils with challenging behaviour
• A calm, patient, and caring persona
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and small group basis
