SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA

Immediate

Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm

Pay rate: GBP 90 - GBP 110 per day

A fantastic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in St Helens (WA9) is seeking a talented teaching assistant with a minimum of 6 months experience in an educational setting. Team-Teach training is beneficial but not essential.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support students on a one-to-one basis with curriculum support and in small groups with class activities.

The school supports pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 with challenging behaviour and various SEND, including SEMH. The role involves working under the direction of a class teacher. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school provides ongoing support and guidance, with a welcoming team dedicated to meeting student needs.

Essential Requirements:
  • At least 6 months experience in an educational setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient, and caring demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Experience supporting students in 1:1 and small group settings
