Job summary

Pilgrim’s Europe are looking for a Team Member in the Packing Department to join us at Windmill Lane in Southall, London.

The role focuses on producing excellent results by following standard work, inspecting materials for quality, and helping the team meet safety and production metrics.

You will work a 5-in-7 PM shift pattern with a competitive monthly rate, and the potential to earn over £500 per week.

Responsibilities

• Identify, rectify, and report production issues affecting process performance and quality.
• Conduct visual inspection of materials for damage or defects and verify batch numbers.
• Ensure availability of ingredients, packaging and consumables before production.
• Set up the line for production, ensuring safety, hygiene, and equipment readiness.
• Record downtime, waste, yield and changeover times to monitor performance.
• Conduct periodic quality checks and take samples to verify specifications.
• Document QC results and implement corrective actions to maintain flow.

Job Purpose

To produce excellent results by following standard work, converting work materials into finished goods, continually improving the work environment by, helping the team to achieve the required metrics for the area. Have a key focus on colleague safety and product quality.

Produce Excellent Results

• Identify, rectify, and report production issues that may affect process performance, product quality or team member health & safety to facilitate further investigation and root cause analysis. Aim to be part of a high performing team.
• Conduct visual inspection of materials for damage, defect or foreign material and verification of material batch numbers and shelf life.
• Verify actual availability of material (ingredients, packaging & consumables) and availability or a process line prior to production, process start-up, changeovers, or clean downs.
• Setup the line / area for production ensuring all the following is available / controls for working safely, hygiene standards, machines, parts, tools & labour and conduct product / process changeovers as specified in changeover SOP’s.
• Record and collect relevant data to enable excellent results of the Production Stream. E.g., downtime, waste, yield, non conformances, rework, machine, and equipment changeover times etc.
• Subject all WIP / finished product to standard operating checks to ensure it meets the required specification before releasing to the next process / warehouse.
• Conduct periodic quality inspections / take product samples before, during and after production as detailed in production specification documents and SOP’s.
• Document results from QC inspections and assess the impact on product/process flow. Determine if corrective action is required and pursue implementation of corrective action to ensure continuation of production flow.
