Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Team Manager to lead a section of the Technical team within Myton Food Group. You will drive results through your people, ensuring engagement, strong performance and safe, high quality outputs for customers.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will coach and develop Operatives, set short and medium term plans, monitor KPIs, maintain food safety standards, and push continuous improvement across the site.

• Experience in managing large production/quality assurance teams.
• Proven track record of delivering results through people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Operatives within the Technical team.

• Ensure compliance with Technical policies and food safety standards.
• Drive KPI performance daily and weekly with action plans.
• Coach and develop staff, manage attendance and welfare.
• Allocate tasks and oversee the weekly technical labour plan.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Our Team Managers have the operation nailed. They're responsible for driving results through their teams. It's up to them to ensure their people are engaged, well managed and productive. It's fast and ever-changing - are you up for the challenge? In this role you will manage a team of colleagues within the Technical team, working to deliver a high quality product to our customers.

Reporting into the Technical Manager, other responsibilities include:

• Managing a team of Operatives, as a strong people developer and performance manager through a coaching leadership style
• Overseeing the establishment of short and medium term plans and KPI targets
• Implementation of and compliance to Technical policies
• Playing an active role in achieving site accreditations where applicable
• Ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards comply with BRC and Morrisons food safety standards
• Monitoring and driving KPIs and taking action to ensure they are all met on a daily and weekly basis
• Setting performance targets and reviewing progress and creating action plans to improve performance (including reducing of costs and the improvement of standards across all areas)
• Looking for solutions to problems and driving continuous improvement strategies
• Spotting and developing talent in your team through coaching and guidance
• Looking after colleague welfare and improving attendance standards
• Allocating tasks and holding daily shift briefs, and being accountable for the weekly technical labour plan
• Ensure compliance with raw material and finished product specifications

More about you

• Management/Supervisory experience within a large scale production / quality assurance operation
• The ability to challenge decisions and behaviours to ensure consistency in service to our customers, and will demonstrate your ability to problem solve
• A proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team in a people management role
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge the status quo
• Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot
• An understanding of cost models and experience of budgetary control and understanding pest control management.
