Job summary

Morrisons is hiring a Canteen Operative at our Manufacturing site to prepare and cook hot and cold meals for colleagues. You’ll serve large numbers daily and ensure hygiene and safety in a busy canteen environment.

No catering experience is required as full training is provided; you’ll join a team focused on great service and a supportive work culture.

• Has excellent customer service skills, ideally with experience of working on a till or handling cash.
• Is flexible, adaptive and willing to learn new skills.
• Will enjoy working in a busy kitchen environment and as part of a team.
• Takes pride in delivering great customer service with a smile.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot and cold food for colleagues in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
• Serve meals to between 200 and 1,500 colleagues daily and maintain service standards.
• Undertake cleaning and hygiene duties in kitchen, serving and canteen areas.
• Provide excellent customer service in a safe, efficient and hygienic environment.

More about the role

As a Canteen Operative in our Manufacturing site, you'll be helping to provide our hard working colleagues with good hearty meals to look forward to whilst they're at work. You'll complete a wide range of tasks related to the preparation and cooking of hot and cold food for our colleagues, whilst complying with food hygiene regulation and site safety procedures. Helping to serve between 200 to 1,500 colleagues a day, you'll also undertake all aspects of cleaning and hygiene in the kitchen, serving and canteen areas. A real focus will be on excellent customer service, in a safe, efficient and hygienic environment.
