Part Time contract - 14.80 hrs / 2 days per week

Newport City Council has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and committed part-time Team Manager to manage and lead the Prevention team alongside the current team manager, working 2 days a week. The role involves contributing to the development and delivery of early intervention and preventative services.

Prevention and Inclusion is part of the social services directorate, and a social work qualification is essential.

Applicants with experience or skills in managing change, and who are keen to develop their management skills and abilities, are sought.

We welcome applications from individuals with creativity in their work, some experience managing a budget, applying for grants, and an understanding of how performance management and data use can contribute to the success of a service.

Safeguarding knowledge and its utilisation are also vital.

The post will provide excellent opportunities for personal development and will join an experienced manager and management team working towards making a difference for the people supported.

You must be willing to work flexible hours and largely from community venues, as the team provides support outside traditional office hours to fulfill the plan's objectives.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Services Check (DBS).
