Charles Hunter Associates is assisting a specialist therapeutic independent fostering agency in recruiting a team manager for the Midlands fostering service. The role is permanent, full-time, and hybrid (1–2 days in the office) with options in the West Midlands at Birmingham or Tamworth.

You will lead social workers, influence carer recruitment, and drive quality assurance and compliance. The successful candidate will hold a social work degree with post-qualification experience in Children’s

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Social Work is required.
• Post-qualification experience in Children's Social Work including fostering.
• Up-to-date knowledge of fostering legislation.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage social workers.
• Contribute to foster carer recruitment and retention strategies.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance.
• Maintain all relevant reports and documentation.

Job description

A specialist therapeutic independent fostering agency are looking for a team manager for their fostering service covering the Midlands. This is a permanent and full-time position that is hybrid working (1/2 days per week in office). This is a newly created position.

You must have a Diploma/Degree in Social Work and have the right to work in the UK (no VISA sponsorship available).

About the team

This independent fostering agency is well known for working with a therapeutic approach and their service is rated “good” by Ofsted (2026). They have several regionally based teams across the UK but this service is based in the West Midlands with an office in Birmingham or Tamworth that you can be based at.

About the job

• Supporting and managing social workers
• Contributing to foster carer retention & recruitment strategies

• Upkeeping all relevant compliance & reports

About you

The successful candidate will have a social work degree with post qualification experience in Children's Social Work which must include fostering to at least a senior social worker level whilst having an up-to-date understanding of relevant fostering legislation.
