Job summary

Cardiff Council in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Team Manager for the Intake and Assessment teams. You will lead a full team of social workers, ensuring a child-centred approach and strong supervision within a duty-rotated remit across the city.

You will oversee Section 47 and wellbeing assessments, with potential handover to Locality teams for longer interventions. The role may involve work with unaccompanied children and multi-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with registration to practice in Wales.
• Experience in supervision or management, or willingness to step into a managerial role.
• Commitment to child-centred practice and voice of the child in all interventions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise an Intake & Assessment team delivering social work assessments.
• Carry out Section 47 and wellbeing assessments and related investigations.
• Hand over to Locality teams for longer interventions when required; support unaccompanied children as needed.
• Engage in home/school visits, court work, and multi-agency collaboration; promote safeguarding priorities.
