Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager for the Families First Service to lead a multi-disciplinary team supporting children and families through assessment, safeguarding and care planning.

You will deliver high-quality social work practice, manage risk and promote positive outcomes through relationship-based approaches, working closely with partners and court processes.

Qualifications

  • Registered Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Strong safeguarding and risk management experience.
  • Experience of court work and care proceedings.
  • Ability to complete high-quality assessments, reports and care planning.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support work with children and families within the Families First Service.

  • Undertake direct work with children and families to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns and risk, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Lead on court work and care proceedings, including preparing high-quality assessments, statements and reports.
  • Attend court hearings and work effectively to court-directed timescales.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, wider support networks, and partner agencies.
  • Promote strengths-based and relationship-focused practice across the service.

About the Role

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to join its Families First Service. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting children and families through assessment, intervention, safeguarding, and care planning.

The successful candidate will work with children and families to deliver high-quality social work practice, managing risk and safeguarding concerns while promoting positive outcomes through relationship-based practice.
