Job summary

Matalan is seeking a Team Manager to act as a role model for our values and behaviours while driving sales and leading a high-performing team. You will coach, motivate, and support staff, and take responsibility for running the store in the Store Manager’s absence.

Your focus will be on delivering a great shopping experience and achieving targets. You will lead by example, build a skilled team, and maintain VF/VM guidelines, while remaining adaptable to change and focused on cost-conscious

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role in Fashion or Homeware Retail.
• Confident communicator who can engage and motivate others.
• Ability to up-skill team members and give regular feedback.
• Proven leadership experience and role-model behaviour.

• Drive sales targets and explore sales opportunities.
• Lead and develop a high performing, energetic team.
• Open and close the store and manage store operations.
• Implement seasonal layouts and visual guidelines across the store.
• Provide feedback to drive performance and maintain VM standards.
• Act as store lead in the absence of the Store Manager.

• Driving sales targets and will explore sales opportunities
• A Role Model of outstanding Customer Service, Matalan Values and have a real passion for Retail
• Leading the implementation of seasonal layouts and visual guidelines throughout the store
• Opening and closing the store
• Up-skilling team members, giving regular feedback to drive performance. Have experience in a similar role in Fashion or Homeware Retail
• Be a confident communicator who understands how to engage and motivate others
• Be able to provide examples of leadership experience
• Have a good understanding of Visual Merchandising (VM)
• Have a proven ability to identify sales opportunities and drive new ideas
• Have good knowledge of operational processes and procedures within retail while remaining conscious of costs
• Be able to work under pressure and be adaptable to change
