Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead the Targeted Family Help Team, delivering strengths-based, trauma-informed and systemic interventions. You will supervise practitioners and work with partners to ensure families receive timely support.

This leadership role requires NVQ Level 4+ qualification, extensive frontline experience with children and families, and proven people-management skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 or higher in health and social care, youth work, education or related discipline.
• Extensive experience leading Family Help, Early Help or Early Intervention services.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of legislation and practice relating to children and young people.
• Experience with performance management, quality assurance and service improvement.
• Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.

You will provide leadership, supervision and professional guidance to a team of practitioners delivering strengths-based, trauma-informed and systemic interventions. Working closely with partners across education, health, social care, police and the voluntary sector, you will drive service excellence, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A relevant qualification at NVQ Level 4 or above in health and social care, youth work, education or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience working with children, young people and families within Family Help, Early Help or Early Intervention services.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong understanding of legislation, policy and practice relating to children and young people.
• Experience of performance management, quality assurance and service improvement.
• Excellent communication, partnership-building and influencing skills.
• A commitment to strengths-based, trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
