Job summary

Smart Solutions are recruiting for a Trainee Team Leader / Team Leader to join our client's busy production operation in London. This role offers training with the opportunity to progress from Trainee Team Leader (£14.15 per hour) to Team Leader (£14.70 per hour) after full training and competence.

Working on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, you will supervise production activities, drive KPIs, mentor new starters and deliver practical training while maintaining a safe, positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Communicative level of English.
• Good communication skills at all levels.
• Experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role within a production environment.
• Experience in waste, recycling or production is advantageous.
• Strong motivational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable and committed approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production activities during the shift.
• Ensure shift KPIs and operational action plans are met and exceeded where possible.
• Support the smooth and efficient running of the production operation.
• Mentor, monitor and support new starters.
• Deliver practical training to new employees.
• Train team members on picking techniques and picking priorities.
• Ensure employees understand and follow Health & Safety procedures.
• Motivate and support the team to achieve daily targets.
• Monitor performance and provide guidance where required.
• Lead by example and maintain a positive working environment.
• Report any operational, performance or Health & Safety issues to management.
