Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Team Leader - Tenancy Sustainment in Seaham to lead a dedicated team in delivering tailored support to sustain tenancies and manage risk.

You will work closely with the Assistant Housing Manager and partner agencies to coordinate multi‑agency responses, oversee safeguarding, and drive continuous improvement through file audits and reflective practice. This role is temporary until Jan 2028.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Safeguarding Level 2
• Experience of line managing staff
• Experience of partnership working to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Tenancy Sustainment Officers, including case allocation and meetings.
• Oversee support plans, risk assessments and interventions for tenants.
• Coordinate multi‑agency meetings and represent the service at MAPPA, MARAC, TAF and MDT forums.
• Deal with safeguarding issues and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Undertake file audits, review performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop strong relationships with statutory, voluntary and private partners to deliver coordinated support.
