Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting a NEAT Team Leader to coordinate street cleansing, public conveniences and grounds maintenance across Neighbourhood Services. You will oversee a small team, provide guidance, monitor performance and ensure safety and compliance with plant, vehicle and equipment use.

Strong organisational and record-keeping skills are essential. Applicants should have a Level 3 Horticulture qualification (or willingness to work towards), knowledge of driving

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Horticulture (or willingness to work towards)
• Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to driving
• Ability to drive and operate a range of specialist vehicles
• Ability to understand complex detailed spoken and written instructions, and keep accurate work records
• Confident and competent with the use of computers and technology

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a small team of street cleansing operatives, public convenience operatives, gardeners and grass cutters, providing guidance and motivating staff to achieve service objectives and quality standards
• Ensuring the safety of employees and the public in relation to the work undertaken including the safe use of all plant, equipment and tools as well as routine vehicle checks
