Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join the team based mainly at the Corby depot. The role covers parks, gardens, open spaces, highways and cemeteries across NN Council areas.

You will perform grass cutting, strimming, litter picking, hedge cutting, grave digging, weed spraying and related duties, working outdoors in all weathers. The role requires a full UK driving licence and the ability to drive a council van to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Experience in grounds works and manual digging desirable, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Digging with hand tools and shovelling soil.
• Strimming/Grass cutting and litter picking.
• Hedge cutting and weed spraying.
• Driving a company van between locations.
• Watering and maintaining newly planted trees.
