Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking a Team Member for Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance in the borough. This is an outdoors role covering street cleansing, waste removal and grounds maintenance to keep public spaces clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, you will operate equipment, follow safety procedures and work as part of a team under the Environmental Services department.

Responsibilities

• Carry out street cleansing duties, including sweeping roads, footpaths, steps, hard surfaces and bus shelters.
• Remove graffiti, fly-posting, weeds, litter and other waste from public areas.
• Empty and position litter, dog waste and grit bins as required.
• Report and assist with the safe clearance of spillages, drug-related litter and dead animals.
• Support winter maintenance operations, including gritting and clearing pathways.
• Assist with the collection and removal of domestic, bulky, commercial and recyclable waste.
