Job summary

Pilgrim’s Europe in Southall is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to oversee a fast-paced production line. You will coach a small team, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and help optimise processes on shift.

The role requires hands-on leadership, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate clearly to maintain high standards and on-time delivery in a busy food manufacturing environment. 5 days out of 7, 06:00–14:00 shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen or production team.
• Knowledge of safety and quality standards (HACCP) desirable.
• Strong communication and coaching skills for team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead a kitchen/production team to meet performance metrics while maintaining safety and quality.
• Use visual management to communicate performance issues and corrective actions.
• Plan, document and execute start-ups and changeovers to minimise cost.
• Coordinate shift handovers and optimise labour and OEE on the line.
• Ensure documentation for safety, quality, operations and asset management is completed.

Job Purpose

To lead the team in achieving their required metrics for the area, with a key focus on team member safety, product quality and process optimisation, providing daily support and coaching to all team members.

• Use visual management to communicate to the team performance issues and what you are doing about correcting them.
• Deliver value; hourly, daily, and weekly maintaining attainment to plan and trigger the escalation process for any deviation in safety, quality or throughput.
• Ensure that start-ups and changeovers are documented, planned, and executed efficiently to minimise cost.
• Ensure that shift handovers documented and communicated effectively.
• Optimise labour, minimise waste and maximise OEE for the team
• Ensure that poor quality is not passed on to the next stage of the process.
• Complete all documentation for safety, quality, operations, environmental an asset management as required by our systems and by our customers.
