Job summary

Brainkind in Horsham seeks a Team Leader to lead and develop a team of rehabilitation support workers providing quality social and vocational support to People we Support, in line with individual plans and regulatory standards. The role involves line management, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring care quality in a residential setting near Broadbridge Heath.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care/support environments.
  • Knowledge of care standards, health & safety and food hygiene regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to prioritise, plan and organise workload flexibly.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders to support Brainkind's positive reputation.
  • Provide line management to a designated team at a location or group of locations.
  • Undertake reasonable travel to fulfil duties, including support at other locations as required.
  • Set and communicate high standards of care and professional conduct within the team.
  • Lead and support Brainkind quality audits and safety responsibilities.
  • Contribute information for incident/safeguarding notifications where appropriate.
  • Represent Brainkind at meetings, seminars and external events where applicable.

Salary: Up to £15.21 per hour plus £1 per hour location allowance

Hours: 35 hours per week

Kerwin Court delivers specialist neuro rehabilitation to adults with an acquired brain injury in a residential setting just outside of Broadbridge Heath. You will be working with a team of rehabilitation support workers alongside a multi-disciplinary team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and speech and language therapists.

Our Rehabilitation Support Workers and Clinical Team thrive on working together to enable the People we Support to be as independent as possible and achieve their rehabilitation goals to include supporting our residents to safely access the community.

  • To contribute to and have responsibility for providing quality social and vocational support services for People we Support within a specified group at a specified location or group of locations.
  • To lead, supervise and develop a team of rehabilitation support workers to ensure the needs of the People we Support are met according to their individual support plan in line with company policy and procedures and regulatory standards.
The Role:

As a Team Leader your main purpose will be to contribute and have responsibility for providing quality social and vocational support services for the people we support. You will lead, supervise and develop a team of support workers to ensure the needs of those wesupport are met according to their individual support plan in line with company policy and procedures and regulatory standards.

Main duties will include:
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders in order to compliment and contribute to the positive reputation of the company.
  • To provide line management to a designated team of staff within a specified group at a location or group of locations within the allocated division.
  • To undertake any reasonable traveling requirements in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role. This may include supporting other locations within the Division as required.
  • To set and communicate high standards of care and professional conduct within the team supervised.
  • To lead and support compliance with Brainkind quality audits.
  • To lead and support in health and safety duties as appropriate
  • To contribute information for the accurate notification of incidents/accidents/safeguarding as appropriate.
  • Represent the Brainkind at meetings and seminars and any other external events, where appropriate.
Requirement
  • NVQ / QCF level 3 HSC or willingness to work towards within 12 months
Skills/Experience required:
  • Previous experience of working within a care/support environment
  • Knowledge of current relevant legislation relating to care standards, health and safety and food hygiene
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Demonstrate ability to be flexible and adaptable in approach, being able to prioritise , plan and organise the work load
