Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd is seeking a proactive Team Leader to support the Service Manager and manage day-to-day shifts at a supported living service in the UK. You will lead a team to deliver person-centred care and empower service users to pursue their goals.

The role involves staff development, recruitment, inductions, appraisals, coaching, roaster management and attendance control, ensuring safe, compassionate and well-led care at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working within a care role, supporting people with learning disabilities / behaviours that challenge.
• Ability to lead a team/shift.
• Ideally, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower their team in supporting the people they support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
• You will be proactive and support the development and skills of Support Workers. This will include recruitment, induction, supervisions, annual appraisals, training, coaching, rota management, sickness and absence management.
• Take the lead to help Support Workers understand their responsibilities and by doing so ensure that safe, effective, caring, responsive and well lead support and care is delivered at all times.
• Ensure that all the people we support have person centred support/care plans. You will be able to create and update these plans as per any changes that are required.
• To oversee and support the development of excellent quality within the service. You will design, develop and maintain excellent service user records. Working in a supportive manner that empowers the service user to live their life in their chosen manner.
