Job summary

North Norfolk District Council is seeking a proactive Team Leader to guide a team of professional planning officers. You will drive quality outcomes through the planning process while supporting and motivating the team to sustain high performance.

The role emphasizes effective communication with a broad audience and close collaboration with the Development Manager to ensure an efficient, well-managed service in a unique coastal area.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to Join North Norfolk District Council. With a recently adopted Local Plan, significant site allocations coming forward, a five-year housing land supply and work commencing on the next Plan under the new plan making system we are expanding our teams and looking for a motivated & ambitious Team Leader to lead a team of professional officers working in a unique and special area.

With an area famed for its stunning coastline and big skies, a designated national landscape, 2,000+ listed buildings, 84 conservation areas, numerous European protected sites and various ecological interests amongst many other things, there is a lot to think about when managing growth ambitions, whatever scale of development.

Our Team Leaders manage the day to day workload of the team to ensure they are delivering good quality outcomes through the planning process. They also provide support and guidance for the team and ensure that team members are achieving the required performance levels necessary for a successful team.

About You

We are looking for someone who knows how to deliver good quality outcomes through the planning process in a timely manner and can manage and motivate their team to ensure consistent high performance.

The successful candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively with a wider audience and work positively with the Development Manager to ensure the Service is operating effectively and efficiently.
