Job Description
Could you lead and inspire a team supporting children with learning disabilities and autism?
We’re looking for a dedicated, full-time (38hpw) Team Leader to join our welcoming children’s home in St Albans. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you’ll play a key role in guiding a passionate team and ensuring the home remains a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
You’ll lead a team that supports four brilliant children and young people in their own home. Each child has their own personality, routine and interests. From exploring the outdoors and going on outings to engaging in sensory play and celebrating milestones, no two days are the same. You’ll be part of a compassionate, close-knit community, helping the young people build confidence, develop life skills, and enjoy new experiences.
Your role
As Team Leader, You’ll Support The Day-to-day Running Of The Home And Lead In The Registered Manager’s Absence. Your Days Will Involve
- Helping Support Workers feel confident and connected, with your steady presence and trusted guidance
- Liaising with families, social workers and other professionals to ensure each young person’s wishes and needs are understood and respected
- Creating and implementing personalised support and behaviour plans - and being flexible when things change
- Supporting with recruitment, training, supervision and performance management
- Promoting a consistently high standard in line with Ofsted’s quality standards, Children’s Home regulations and safeguarding requirements
- Responding thoughtfully and promptly to safeguarding concerns, always prioritising the wellbeing of the children
- Supporting young people in all aspects of their daily lives, from helping them get ready for the day and preparing meals to assisting with household chores
You'll also work a mixture of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
If you’re ready to lead with compassion, bring out the best in others, and be a steady presence in the lives of young people who deserve the very best, we’d love to hear from you.
Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding.
